Hello! My name is Matthew Johnson, I am the Senior U.S. Government & Economics teacher, as well as the assistant coach of cross country and track. I'm a proud graduate of the University of South Alabama. I have a bachelors in secondary education: social studies.. After a life changing conversion deeper into the heart of Christ I went on to study for a Master's in Marriage & Family Theology from the Pontifical John Paull II Institute in Washington D.C.https://www.johnpaulii.edu/
I have a true passion for teaching--I truly feel it is what I am called to do. Not only do I enjoy teaching the students important information such as our nation's history, but I also enjoy teaching them important skills they can use throughout their lifetime. I aim to be a positive influence and role model in each student's life, and I look forward to a great year with each class.
In addition to several years of teaching, I was also a FOCUS Missionary. http://www.focus.org/ As a missionary I met my lovely wife Annie. We will be married a year this September. We can't wait for the day to be parents, but until we are blessed with children it will be just us and our a Siamese cat named Jack... we are looking to buy a puppy in the near future so if you have one you want to give away let me know!
Again, I am excited for this school year, and I cannot wait to teach the students about the important and interesting happenings in our nation's history. I look forward to challenging them to think critically and become involved in their own learning of the material. I thank you for your involvement in your child's life, and for your willingness to search this site for the class information. I hope this site is useful and beneficial for you and your child.
Thank you and God bless,
Matthew T Johnson
